What we do
Less than 10% of the Nigerian population has access to health insurance and a staggering 72% face financial hardship due to out-of-pocket healthcare expenses. These stark realities have far-reaching implications on the Nigerian citizens. Recently the National Health Insurance Authority Act 2022 has made health insurance mandatory for all Nigerians. The Act also necessitates the provision of financial assistance to enable unhindered access to quality healthcare. In response to this, SaltinGStein Limited (SGS), in collaboration with the State Health Insurance Schemes initiated the innovative Health Finance Program, which includes the UHC Adoption Tree Project. SGS serves as a strategic business and technology partner to the State Health Management Agencies. Working in unison with all stakeholders, UHC Adoption Tree targets the enrollment of 80 million vulnerable individuals into the state health insurance schemes by 2030, thereby bridging the healthcare access gap and making Universal Health Coverage a reality for Nigeria.
